Civil Site Engineer

MATANA Buildings is a construction and contracting company delivering warehouses, industrial buildings, strip malls and residential buildings in Saudi Arabia. Our team brings long site experience, and we are growing our project teams.

You will

• Supervise the day-to-day civil works: excavation, backfilling, foundations, formwork, reinforcement, concrete and steel structures.
• Supervise the finishing works: masonry, plaster, waterproofing and insulation, tiling and flooring, gypsum ceilings, painting, doors, windows and facades.
• Set out the works and check levels with the surveyor.
• Make sure the works follow the approved drawings, specifications and method statements.
• Prepare inspection requests, attend consultant inspections and close their comments.
• Measure executed works and check subcontractor quantities for payment.
• Track material deliveries and consumption, and request materials on time.
• Plan the daily work of foremen and crews, and prepare the weekly look-ahead.
• Keep daily reports, the site diary and progress photos.
• Coordinate with the MEP engineers on sleeves, openings and embedded items before concrete and finishes.
• Mark up as-built changes as the work goes.
• Follow snags and defects until they are closed.
• Enforce quality and HSE on site: PPE, permits and housekeeping.
• Deal with subcontractors and suppliers on site, and support the project engineer with the client and the consultant.

You bring

• BSc in Civil Engineering and SCE accreditation.
• 3+ years of site experience on building projects, covering structural and finishing works.
• Good reading of drawings and specifications; AutoCAD and MS Office.
• Quantity take-off and measuring executed works.
• Good HSE knowledge: site safety rules, risk assessments and permits to work.
• Good English and at least basic Arabic.
• Saudi, or non-Saudi with a transferable Iqama.

An advantage

• HSE certificates (OSHA, NEBOSH or equivalent).
